The JunoCam instrument aboard NASA's Juno spacecraft captured this view of Jupiter's moon Io – the first-ever image of the moon's south polar region – during Juno's 60th flyby of Jupiter on Apr. 9, 2024. Citizen scientist Thomas Thomopoulos made this image by applying further processing to an image created from raw JunoCam data by another citizen scientist, Gerald Eichstädt.
