STS-95 Payload Specialist John H. Glenn Jr., senator from Ohio, reaches to embrace his wife, Annie, after landing at Kennedy Space Center's Shuttle Landing Facility aboard a T-38 jet. Behind the couple is the mate/demate device used to raise and lower the orbiter from its shuttle carrier aircraft during ferry operations. Glenn and other crewmembers flew into KSC to make final preparations for launch.
