Teneral male Emperor ( Anax imperator ) in the Ahlenmoor, a peatland in northern Lower Saxony, Germany. The dragonfly still clings to the exuvium from which it has just escaped. The wings are already fully unfolded; however, they have not hardened yet. The abdomen still has to stretch to its final size, its marking have yet to develop.
